Quilting 101:  A presentation and practice of a few different methods and skills required for quilting your finished quilt piecing work. 

• Layering a quilt sandwich with top, batting, and backing.
• Presentating a variety of machine quilting and hand quilting processes.
• Practice machine quilting stitch in ditch, straight lines, free motion basics.
• Truing your quilted square.
• Preparing and attaching binding with machine and hand stitching methods.

All steps you need for any beginner quilt size in a mini practice.

Sewing machines, tools and notions provided.  Please bring or come early to purchase a fat quarter quilting cotton to practice a solid square, OR bring a previously pieced square and fabric of the same size to back it, as well as about 1/8 yard to bind it.  Batting provided.

This square will be made into a trivet, potholder, decor, wall hanging, or whatever. 

I predict the process will take the full time.  If you need more time, StitchLab is available to schedule at no additional cost.

Instructor Bio:	Janette loves teaching sewing out of her new studio after being on the road for the last year teaching at various Colorado Mountain College locations. She has been sewing for 20ish years and has dabbled in many facets and continually hones her practice of construction and design with textiles.
